Play on the Beach

The main attraction to the area is also FREE! Twenty-eight miles of silver sand beach is always available to beachcomb, build a sand sculpture, fly kites, take a leisurely walk, or have a picnic on the sand. Please always observe the safety recommendation whenever you’re near the Pacific Ocean.

Recreation

Rent some bikes and take a leisurely ride on the 8-mile long paved Discovery Trail. You can also go zip lining, horseback riding on the beach, or hike the art-walk at the Willapa Bay Interpretive Center, which is only a .75 of a mile loop and suitable for all ages.

Museums and Historical Places

People have been enjoying the Long Beach Peninsula for thousands of years, and the rich history is intriguing. The many museums in the area are jam-packed with cool stuff sure to fascinate the entire family. The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, Cranberry Museum, and Middle Village-Station Camp are favorites. Also, don’t forget Marsh’s Free Museum, where you can see sideshow style attractions such as an eight-legged lamb, full-sized Wildebeest, and Jack the Alligator Man.

Sports

Family sports are a super way to get a little exercise while having a great time. You might want to shoot some hoops, play a round of tennis or pickleball with the kids, or swim at the Dune’s pool. If your kids are teenagers, they might enjoy paddle boarding or kayaking. You can also toss a Frisbee or play with a beach ball while relaxing at the beach.
