We are excited about the 11th annual Firecracker 5K Run/Walk, always held on the first Saturday in July. This 5K run walk starts at the Port of Ilwaco and follows the Discover Trail and back to the Port ending at the Ilwaco Saturday Market.
Family and pet friendly; participants are encouraged to adorn patriotic colors and accessories. Awards are presented for age groups and themes; including a prize for pets.
This year’s event t-shirt features art by local artist, Don Nisbett. T-shirts are included with adults registered by June 26 for $40. Children 14 and under may participate free and t-shirts are available for purchase of $25.
The Ilwaco Merchants Association donates the proceeds from the event to the Ilwaco Fireworks Show, held that evening at dusk, at the Port of Ilwaco.
