Request: Hello. I am the original uploader of this image. I once had the original magazine, but it was in a binder. Hence, the reason the page is curled downward, along the right edge. I don't want major alterations to be made, that would necessitate the creating of a new file name. I was just hoping this one could look more presentable. (I only have basic GIMP knowledge.) For instance, perhaps correcting the darkened shades along bottom and edge of right side. I don't know if anything could be done to give the page better focus, darken the image a tiny spec, or straighten out a couple or so slanted words. Martin drew three illustrations for the "Monitor Top" refrigerator. This is one of them. In closing: I'd appreciate just some touch-ups to improve the overall quality, without having to create a new file name. That mostly means just lightening those darkened shadow areas, so that everything blends in better. Thanks. --JimPercy (talk) 15:02, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

You are welcome. My understanding is the illustration workshop is for diagrams/symbols, or vector graphics in general. The photography workshop, meanwhile, is for retouching/coloring/manipulating complex real-world photos, or raster images in general. 痛 (talk) 08:07, 18 January 2023 (UTC)

Map image split onto two consecutive pages

Request: This PDF, scans of two pages from a public-domain book (1886) pulled from Internet Archive, has an historical line-art map. I would like its two parts spliced together as a single graphics file with corrected alignment. We have en:File:Wickenden Street map.jpg that is nearly-illegibly low-res and has some text highlighted by a third party. We are fairly sure that it's OK for Commons as {{PD-US-no notice}} due to the lack of visible copyright notice on the back of the photo. We'd like to use the photo as a replacement for en:File:MrHaney.jpg, the non-free one currently being used in the main infobox of the article en:Pat Buttram. Ideally, it would be great if there was a way to upload obverse and reverse, or the front and back of the photo as part of the same file, and then create an infobox crop. @Blaze Wolf: , we can certainly make the whole thing transparent (see above), but there is a reason why glassware tends to have a background with them. Should we see through the glassware? Should we see through the liquid inside? What about the surface of that liquid, should we see through that too, or should it reflect its "background", in which case it looks darker when placed on a dark background? What about people browsing Wikipedia using a custom dark mode, will they still be able to see the glassware? There are so many considerations around this; it is better to leave it to writers to decide how they want to present this image. --痛 (talk) 18:31, 17 February 2023 (UTC)

Ah fair enough. I was mainly requesting it because User:Moops wanted to use it on their talk page instead of the image that was previously there and the white background looked really odd. More out of personal interest I took photos of the beautiful socialist panel "Flight from Icarus and Daedalus to the space" at Belgrade Airport last week. Surprisingly, it seems there is no photo at all of it on Commons, that's why I decided to upload mine. Would someone do me the favor and stitch them together? I know, they're not the best, mobile phone, etc.. How it works nevertheless.

Comment: PseudoSkull: I suggest you will be better off to use the high resolution jpg file I uploaded, even with some more retouching, from the Wayback Machine archive. It was made from the single page scans in JP2000 and converted to jpg, so is a smaller file then the png above. Request: Hello. I am the original uploader of this illustration. But this was years ago (unable to redo). It's a rare image of a billboard dating to 1930. It's signed by the artist on the bed's mattress. Notice the glare in the upper wording, caused by the camera's glare. I don't want major alterations to be made, which would necessitate the creation of a new file name. I was just hoping this one could look more presentable. (I only have basic GIMP knowledge.) The problem is in the captioned word "hungry", especially in the "ngr." Perhaps the white part could be lightened and the background part darkened, in order to mesh better with the rest of the wording. In closing, I'd appreciate just some touch-ups to improve the overall quality, without having to create a new file name.
